Simon Cope, (Operations Manager)
Simon has recently joined HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED from Oriel Services Ltd. Simon's role & responsibilities include implementation of new processes within HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED, client liaison, focal point for all staff, staff training etc....
Simon started his career as an Architectural Technician in a private practice in Rotherham, straight from leaving school. He became fully qualified in 1992 graduating from Sheffield City Polytechnic. Simon moved into the insurance sector by joining Cameron Durley in 1997 before moving onto Byrom Clark Roberts in 1999. He decided to move into the contracting side of the insurance business by joining Roger Bullivant Ltd and then Connaught Property Services, where he eventually became the Insurance Division Manager.
Simon moved to Cunningham Lindsey Leeds in December 2003, to work as a Project Manager, dealing with subsidence affected claims, before becoming Contracts Manager at Cunningham Lindsey Leicester and more recently as Repair Manager for Oriel Services Ltd.
Charlotte took on the role as office manager in May 2008. Her main responsibilities include, arranging all of the new jobs from date of instruction to completion, Managing all data, information and systems in place so that HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED can achieve certification in ISO 9001 for our internal quality management. Charlotte is also the main point of contact for all of our operatives on site and deals with any concerns, problems or issues that may arise throughout the duration of the works. Along with the above Charlotte also leads the office team to make sure we run and operate efficiently, productively and professionally.
Charlotte started her career as a secretary at a international telecommunications company where she looked after over 150 engineers for 13 years, She then progressed her career in a local surveying company for 4 years before moving on to HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED in 2008.

Nigel Cass, (Decorations & Remedial Repairs Supervisor)
Nigel joined HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED in July 2004. His main responsibilities include: working along side Cliff running and managing jobs once work has started on site, managing all decorations works once repairs have been completed, supervising his team of decorators, liaising with policy holders to maintain customer satisfaction and signing off all jobs as complete once repairs and decorations have been completed.
Nigel Started his career as an apprentice decorator at a local company in Nottingham, on completion of his 3 year apprenticeship he moved onto a larger firm as a decorator and moved up the ranks to become an on site supervisor running jobs up to the value of £500,000. Nigel then moved onto a large building and electrical contractors where he spent 3 years running jobs on site. Before joining HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED Nigel spent many years at a London based company who specialized in the hospitals and health care sector as a contracts manager working on site managing and running jobs up to the value of 1 million pounds. Nigel started at HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED as a decorator and worked his way up to become decorations and remedial repairs supervisor.

Cliff Hawley, (Private Works & Remedial Repairs Supervisor)
Cliff joined HB Jones(MIDLANDS) LIMITED in November 2008. His main responsibilities include, Quotation and pricing for all private works and insurance claims that have gone to tender, running and managing all jobs along side Nigel once repairs/works have started, dealing with any on site issues that may occur throughout the duration of works.
Cliff started his career at an early age coming from a family of builders and tradesman, he went straight from school to work at a Nottingham based company whilst working on his 5 year advanced city & guilds apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery. After completing this course he moved onto another Nottingham based company as a joiner. In 1981 Cliff started his own joinery & roofing business which he successfully ran for 28 years before joining the team at HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED.
Steven Bird, (Trainee Building Technician)
Steven took on the role as trainee building technician in April 2009. His main responsibilities include managing the health and safety on and off site from start to finish of each job, including PPE, inductions and health & safety folders. Organising and controlling all internal and external training for all operatives and staff at HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED to ensure all staff are fully trained and competent, in all areas necessary to their individual roles. Maintaining, running and updating of the website.
Steven started his career straight from university at a small civil and structural engineering company in Nottingham as a CAD technician producing detailed construction drawings for various sized projects including foundations, superstructure, floor slabs, portal frames, drainage, demolition etc for 18 months. He then moved onto a larger civil and structural engineering company based in derby where he took on the same role but also covered more detailed areas of construction design such as reinforced concrete detailing, connection detailing and scheduling for 3 years before moving on to HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED to continue along his career path.
Matt Farr (Groundworks Supervisor)
Matt Farr (MF Construction) started working for HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED as a subcontractor carrying out works such as bricklaying and groundwork's as and when HB Jones required his services. As time went on and work loads increased Matt came to work alongside HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED on a full time basis over seeing all of the substructure and superstructure work from demolition to rebuild.
Matt started his career straight out of school by starting a CITB apprentiship in bricklaying which he completed after 2 years. Following this Matt went on to working on various building sites and projects constructing new builds, commercial offices and warehouses. As time went on Matt decided to move his career forward by setting up his own business which he named MF Construction. In February 2006 MF Construction became a limited company and now work alongside HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED on a permanent basis.

Current Status
Fire
HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED are currently working through 4 fire damage claims with more coming through in the pipe work. You can see the status of these jobs below or in our gallery section of the website.
Southey Street: The existing roof has been removed and the new trusses have been constructed. The tiles are do to be fitted over the next couple of weeks along with the conservation windows. The new second floor is currently being laid ready for the new staircase to be installed. On completion of the second floor the new ceilings to the first floor will be fitted and any remaining plastering works will be carried out followed by the decorations.
Bradbury Close: The roof is now complete externally and we are now working on installing new electrical systems including storage heaters. The ceilings are due to be replaced over the new week or so, followed by the kitchen and the decorations.
Sixth Avenue: Works at this property are well under way all damaged surfaces have been stripped, all damaged plumbing works have been removed and a new boiler has been installed along with associated pipe work. The new bathroom suit is due to be fitted over the next few weeks. Plastering works are well under way new ceilings have been fitted and damaged surfaces have been skimmed, A partial re wire to the property has also been carried out.
Parkers Lane: Works are also well under way on this claim also. All damaged surfaces have been replaced or cleaned, new doors have been installed, Decorations are in progress along with second fix joinery items.
Subsidence & Escape of water
HB Jones (MIDLANDS) LIMITED are also working through the many subsidence and escape of water claims that seem to keep coming through on a daily basis from all over the midlands.
Miscellaneous
Masters & Scholars: Partial demolition works have been carried out to the existing oil tank housing. The new reinforced raft has been excavated and laid, the new housing brickwork has been set out and is currently being constructed.
